Austen Agency is based in Northern California and serves clients across the United States.

HISTORY

After several years of leading efforts in tech & media corporations, in 2010 we started helping out friends with their non-profit and small business websites and marketing needs.

After receiving several referrals, we realized that people highly valued our efforts and loved the results. In 2017, we decided to formalize our efforts and evolved into a multi-service marketing agency and family business. Since then, we’ve helped clients from a range of industries with websites and various marketing services.

We’ve created over 50 websites and 2000 social posts, bringing a unique blend of technical, creative, and business skills to every project.

As of 2024, we now work exclusively with visual artists and art spaces, marketing their works, building websites, and offering technical support.

Why the arts?

Our beautiful artist friends and family love to create but find that marketing and promoting their art for sale is an ongoing challenge. The consistency required is time-consuming, and there are very few lower-cost options available. We knew we could help.

While galleries and online marketplaces are always an option, artists have asked us to build their own professional website in order to appeal to more buyers, collectors, agents, and gallerists. We’ve also built websites for art spaces.

While social media can be effective for reach, nothing gives a better impression than the ability to guide people to your own website showcasing your work in the style and aesthetic of your choice.

Several clients found us after feeling defeated because their DIY website efforts were more time-consuming and challenging than they expected.

The reality is that creating a professional website and eCommerce capability requires a unique blend of technical, business, and creative skills. Website experts (like us) have these skills and experience and work on websites every day. We save clients time, money, and frustration. Your new website could be ready within days.

Our Principles for Website Projects:

  1. Every client has their own sense of timing. Some of our clients want their new website within a week, and others are in no rush. We work at your pace.

  2. Every client fully owns and can access their website and other tools upon launch. You might be surprised to learn that some marketing businesses actually discourage a client’s access to their website or use overkill technology to make a client dependent on them. While we do add custom code as needed and need clients to be very careful with their edits, that will never happen with us. You completely own your digital assets.

  3. Every client has the final say. We call this “advise & align.” We will always advise what we think is best based on our experience and expertise, but we will always align if the client wants something different. If we’ve recommended colors, copy, or other elements that you just don’t like, we’re zero-offended. We want you to look at your digital presence and be happy. You make the final call.
